IMPORTANT PRACTICE CHANGES

June 2018

We would like to welcome back Dr C Phillips from maternity leave.

Dr Phillips will be working 5 sessions, which for June will be usually on a Wednesday morning, all day Thursday and Friday.  You will be able to pre-book appointments from the 11th June 2018.

Dr James Thompson will continue to work two sessions on a Monday, alongside Dr Jurgita, who will also work other sessions over the week normally on a Tuesday and Friday.

Dr J Mandhar will work 5 sessions usually all day on Tuesday and Wednesday and a Friday morning.

Rachel Brown the Nurse Practitioner will work when available on a Thursday.

We will still run open surgeries each day to primarily see urgent problems.  The open surgeries will be run by the duty GP or Nurse Practitioner; both are able to deal with most acute problems and can issue prescriptions.

Consultation for proposed merger of Belvoir Vale Surgery and The Welby Practice

Formal consultation period with patients to obtain your views regarding the proposed merger of Belvoir Vale Surgery and The Welby Practice before a decision is made by South West Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning group and NHS England has NOW closed. The 45 day consultation started on Thursday 18th January 2018 and finished on Sunday 4th March 2018.

Improving SMS text Communication

We want to improve the way we communicate with patients.  Some of you are already receiving text message reminders for appointments.  We want to widen the number of patients benefiting from this service and we want to use the service for more than just appointment reminders.  For example, we might text you to let you know when a prescription is ready to collect or to ask you to come for your annual review.

From March 2018, if we've got your mobile number, we'll include you in this service unless you've opted out.  Please let us know if you would not like to be part of this service and please make sure you inform us if your mobile number changes.

Friends and Family Test

NHS Midlands and East want you to have the best possible experience of care.  The NHS Friends and Family Test is a way of gathering your feedback, so we can continually review our service.  It is based on one question:

"How likely are you to recommend our service to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?"

Your feedback will help us learn what you think of your experience - what you like and what you think we could improve.  If you would like to take part click the link Friends & Family Test.

Keeping Records Up to Date

Please keep us informed of any changes to addresses, telephone numbers, surnames, etc.  It is essential we maintain personal details for:

Correspondence, e.g. hospital referrals, health check invites, results, etc.

National Summary Care Record

Visits by GPs or NHS Community Staff

Dispensing of medications

Please do not assume that if your address has changed and you are now out of the practice area, you will be able to stay on the practice list.  Speak to one of our receptionists if you have a query or need to up date your records.
