Please note with the current covid-19 pandemic still at the forefront only patients with an appointment will be able to come into the surgeries.

All patients are being asked to wait outside until the clinician calls them in so please ensure suitable clothing is worn. In line with government guidance we are also asking all patients attending the surgery for an appointment to wear a suitable face covering. If you have any symptoms of Covid-19 please do not attend the surgery and call to reschedule your appointment.

Surgery Announcement

Following the impact that Coronavirus has had on Primary Care services, the Welby Practice will be making changes to the opening times at both Harlaxton and Waltham surgeries. From 20 July 2020 both surgeries will be open 3 mornings and 2 afternoons a week.

The new opening times will allow us to deliver a more efficient service across all sites ensuring our resource is utilised where it is needed, whilst also offering patients a wider variety of times available to access face to face care from our team of clinicians at Harlaxton and Waltham. Patients will continue to have access to help and advice online and by telephone between the hours of 08:00 and 18:30 Monday to Friday via our askmyGP service and Systmonline platform.

Wednesday - 08:00 - 12:30

Thursday - 08:00 - 12:30

Friday - 13:30 - 18:00

Waltham Surgery

All medications, prescriptions and patient correspondence will be available for collection during these times.

AskmyGP is the Fastest, and easiest way to access help and advice from your GP surgery and helps you avoid unnecessary visits to the Practice. It saves us time too so wherever possible please help us help you. 

The service is available to all of our patients between the hours of 06:00 and 16:30 Monday to Friday.

If you feel your concern requires urgent attention after this time please telephone the surgery on 01949842341 or use the 111 service if calling after 18:30 or at weekends. 

The Practice now manages all patient requests on the day using a system called askmyGP which is an easy, quick and user friendly way to seek help and advice from one of our practitioners (GPs or Advanced Nurse Practitioners). Patients are able to submit requests for children or anyone they care for, as long as the person they care for is registered with the practice. 
The service is available to all of our patients between the hours of 06:00 and 18:30 Monday to Friday. AksmyGP has helped reduce the typical 8am rush for appointments seen with traditional appointment systems as patients can contact the practice at any point during our askmyGP service times and we respond during our operating hours. We aim to respond to requests made before 16:00 on the same day where possible.
AskmyGP allows patients to seek help from specific practitioners (so long as they are working that day) and we will respond either by telephone or secure electronic message. If a face to face appointment is required this will be offered to the patient on the day they submit their request.  
Please note patients are no longer able to book appointments using their SystmOnline account.

Why do we encourage anyone who has access to a computer, tablet or smart phone to submit their request online?

  •  Submitting a request online allows GPs and ANPs to respond to patients digitally which is often much more convenient for the patient. Most issues can be managed without a need to visit the surgery.
  •  Like all GP practices our telephones are often busy and submitting a request online will save the patient time as there is no waiting for our team of call handlers to get round to your call.
  •  submitting a request online allows a patient to include more detail about their issue including photos and documents which could be useful to the practitioner who is dealing with the request. 
  •  submitting a request online keeps our telephones lines free for patients who genuinely do not have online access or require other services not managed through askmyGP such as nurse appointments.

Patient Benefit Fund

The practice has a benefit fund and patients may wish to make a donation to the surgery. This money is kept in a separate account and is used to provide special equipment to help improve patient care and comfort.

The NHS Friends and Family Test (FFT) was created to help service providers and commissioners understand whether their patients are happy with the service provided, or where improvements are needed. It is a quick and anonymous way to give your views after receiving care or treatment across the NHS.
